I decided to participate in this super fun Instagram challenge for the month of October called #IGWritersOct! Every day of Oct, we're given a new prompt about our books, our inspirations, our writing preferences, and more :) Then we post a photo along with a fun caption!
If you want to get the daily update/post, you can follow me on Instagram (@KaitlynDavisBooks), or I'll be posting weekly updates here on my website.
Hope you enjoy learning more about me and my books!
PS. Don't forget to check out the rest of the recaps :)

#IGWritersOct Day 1 - October Goals
To stay positive and have fun! I’m starting Oct the right way with a trip to Iceland (it’s absolutely gorgeous!!), and I want to maintain this momentum! I just finished the rough draft of Stolen Goods, so the next few weeks will be editing, editing, and more editing. This part of the writing process is my least favorite because it’s when allllll the doubts creep in. I want to make Stolen Goods the absolute best it can be, but also don’t want to be too hard on myself which can be a tough balance to find. So here’s to finishing Oct the way I started it, with great vibes and sense of adventure :) #authorlife #adventures #goals

#IGWritersOct Day 2 - πBooks & Flowersπ·
Confessions was my first romantic comedy series writing under my pseudonym Kay Marie :) I just adore these characters and I still haven’t written out revisiting their stories, perhaps with Bridget or maybe Blythe as the lead this time! Skye and Ollie ended book 2 exactly where I wanted them to be ❤️❤️ The duology is #FreeinKU!

#IGWritersOct Day 3 - Inspiration Boards
Here’s my inspiration board for my WIP #TheRavenandTheDove, an avian-inspired retelling of Tristan & Isolde complete with winged characters and floating kingdoms πππ Expect lots of magic, romance, action, and of course shocking surprises! On sale in Fall 2019, but you can add it on Goodreads now :)

#IGWritersOct Day 4 - Signed Books
Ugh, I hate my signature but I’m posting this to stick to theme π³π¬That being said...signing my own books never gets old!! It’s honestly one of the best feelings in the world ❤️❤️PS: This book is going to one of my newsletter subscribers! I hosted an exclusive giveaway to thank them all for being so awesome! #bookstagram #hotpursuit #signedbooks

#IGWritersOct Day 5 - Unused Book Titles
Here are a few old manuscripts and ideas from my high school/college days that never turned into anything! I’ve also got a running list on my cell phone/in a notebook of title ideas and concepts that aren’t books yet...but could be ππ #authorlife #bookstagram #amwriting

#IGWritersOct Day 6 - Book Spines
All my books π€©ππ About seven years of work, with plenty more to come in the future! So blessed this is my job!

#IGWritersOct Day 7 - Writing Pet Peeves
Full disclosure...I’ve probably done all of these things in my books π
Writing and reading are so subjective, one person’s insta-love might be another person’s ideal romance! What might be intricate world-building to one reader could be totally insufficient to another! I guess that’s just part of the fun and madness of crafting a book ππ #authorlife #amwriting #authorsofinstagram
